Shelton student charged for alleged gun threat

A 17-year-old Shelton High student was arrested Monday morning after allegedly tweeting "I have a gun and I think I'll use it tomorrow." His name was not released due to his age.

The mother of a Shelton High student saw the tweet and reported it to authorities, according to Shelton Police Detective Richard Bango.

The investigation team traced the source of the tweet but no guns were found in the suspect's home. The student was charged with second-degree breach of peace and was released to his parents with promise to appear in juvenile court later this month.
