WCSU Stains the Campus with Color

Bombs of color exploded in the air as the sound of stomping feet echoed on the pavement, at this year's Run or Dye. WCSU students, family and friends, filled the Ives Concert park early afternoon on Oct. 11, throwing powdered paint on one another to brand the three mile race of it’s deserving name: The Color Run.

The course for the race went through the concert park all the way to the nature reserve and finished by the lake, on Westside campus of WCSU. The Western Recreation held the event and had volunteers at every half mile to throw more colored powder at the runners as they ran past.

“The second annual Run or Dye event was a huge success, with over 150 participants, pounds of homemade dye cannons, and a beautiful fall day! I’m really thankful to be apart of such a great department,” boasted Emily Dobson, a member of the WCSU Recreation.

Whether runners participated in the event for fun, a sports team or “simply for the free shirt,” as commuter student Lauren Higgins confessed.

The Color Run was a success all around and students are looking forward to see what Run or Dye has in store for next year.
